On this post of “Baking with Amelia” we discuss a trendy and delicious treat: brookies. Brookies are a mix between brownies and cookies. I originally made these in honor of Valentine’s Day, since they had the sweetness of chocolate and the nostalgia of chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients:

  • Spatula
  • Your choice of box mix for brownies (I used Duncan Hines Decadent Triple Chocolate Brownie)
  • Your choice of cookie dough (I used Nestlé Toll House)
  • A pan

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the brownie mix as instructed.

Step 2: Make a layer of brownie in the pan, making sure to spread it out with the spatula.

Step 3: Take chunks of the cookie dough and put it in the pan, on top of the brownie mix.

Step 4: Use the remaining brownie mix to cover the cookie dough and smooth it down with the spatula, or you can have the cookie dough on the top.

Step 5: Put in the oven for 25 minutes to start. After that, check periodically (I used five minute intervals) until the brookies are done.

Step 6: Enjoy!

I liked making these, they were simple and tasted great. Next time, I’d love to try them with some ice cream. These brookies were perfect for snuggling up and watching a movie or having a filling snack after school, and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone with a sweet tooth.
