Autumn is finally here and that means everything fall-related is back. Classic foods and drinks range from pumpkin pie, apple pie, and pumpkin oatmeal. There is no better way than to start off the month of October than with a fall drink.
Nothing says fall like the traditional pumpkin spice latté. Even from home, you’ll be able to make the famous Starbucks drink in only 10 minutes.
We will start off with the basic ingredients for one serving:
- one cup of milk
- one tablespoon of white sugar, or more according to your taste
- one tablespoon of pumpkin purée
- one teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, or less according to taste
- one-half of a teaspoon of vanilla extract
- one-fourth cup of brewed espresso
Once you’ve bought or gathered all your ingredients, then you may start to make your pumpkin spice latté.
First, whisk half a cup of milk, sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over low heat and let all of it simmer for about five minutes. Afterwards, whisk in the remaining half cup of milk.
Pour the milk mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the pulp. Then, return the milk mixture to your saucepan and keep simmering as well as whisking for two minutes. Add your espresso and keep whisking for about one minute until it looks foamy.
And you’ve just ended up with your own pumpkin spice latté – similar to the name-brand coffee and made in the comfort of your own home for the holidays.
