Nothing better to reward the long trek through the hot desert that is the student parking lot than a cold dessert.

On Wednesday, Aug. 31, iconic SOG ice cream shop Dairy Joy teamed up with the RIBLI Foundation for a special treat just for the Knights.

The Senior Stampede at Dairy Joy was originally just for the IB seniors but eventually opened up to all seniors to celebrate their accomplishments.

Anyone who showed up at the counter identifying themselves as a Robinson student received 30% off on their order. This brought a small crowd of seniors hoping to cool off from the sweltering August heat and the heat of school work. Choosing colleges may be hard, but choosing an ice cream flavor can also be near as much of a challenge.

“A vanilla soft-serve is easy and basic and doesn’t require much thinking. It’s standard and doesn’t change. I like it,” Charlie Thaxton (’23) said.

The whole event also acted as a celebration for some.

“You know, I feel very accomplished that I made it this far. I’m very proud of myself and I’m proud of my peers,” Ava LeClair (’23) said.
