After a 13-6 win over FAMU in the state semifinals, the Knights’ flag football team will face off against Seminole Ridge Hawks in the title game tonight at 7 p.m. The match-up is a repeat of last year’s state finals, where the Knights beat the Hawks 7-6.

Head Coach Joshua Saunders called the FAMU game an okay performance for the Knights.

“We would have liked to have scored more,” he said of the game. “We wanted the opportunity to be in [the title] game and we have that opportunity now.”

In order to defeat the Hawks, the no. 1 ranked team in the state, Saunders said the Knights, ranked second in the state, will have to improve on today’s performance.

“We will have to put it all together and play our best game of the year, and hopefully live up to the moment.”
