Q: Why did you originally choose eLearning for the first semester?

A: “I didn’t feel safe going back in person, especially seeing people everywhere not taking mask mandates and social distancing seriously.”

Q: Are you going back for the second semester? Why or why not?

A: “I am because I think it’ll be better for preparing for IB exams and also for my mental health.”

Q: Was eLearning what you expected? Was there anything that surprised you?

A: “I had no expectations for it because I knew it’d be really different from how we did it last year when everything got locked down. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed Canvas compared to Edsby and I was surprised at how easy it was to adjust.”

Q: Did you have to come to school for practices, games, tests, etc.? How did it feel?

A: “I had to go for my English oral and for a couple service projects with SGA and it was pretty weird. The school feels very empty and different from past years.”

Q: What is something you’ve learned from eLearning about studying, time management, etc.?

A: “I’ve learned so much about time management and not letting things pile up. I’ve also learned that I work better in the early morning than late at night.”

Q: Has eLearning changed you as a student in any way? If so, how? If not, how did you maintain the same student mindset and study habit as you would’ve in-person?

A: “I don’t know if it’s eLearning, senioritis, or a combination but I got so indifferent towards late work. I think it’s because i’m disconnected so I don’t feel as much pressure to turn things in on time.”

Q: If there was anything you could tell yourself before you started the first semester, what would it be?

A: “Not to slack off during Spanish because you’ll end up with 10 late assignments over break that you don’t want to do.”
