The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is a organization that raises money for children in need. This organization  provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. UNICEF’s purpose was extended after its original founding to help the long-term needs of children and women everywhere in the world.

The organization Be UNICEF is a big part of the community at Robinson High School. Just like in the outside community, UNICEF hosts fundraisers to raise money to give back to give women and children throughout the world.  The event Trick or Treat for UNICEF is an annual fundraiser lasts from October 1st through the 31st.

This is a friendly competition against Key Club here at Robinson and every year both clubs compete to see who can do the best and see who can raise the most money. All the proceeds from this event will go to women and children who are desperately in need. Both clubs are looking to raise roughly around $500. “Any time we can help people is a great  time” said Macy McClintock(’19). On November 5th (club day), the winning club will be awarded a prize for raising the most money. Alyssa Ackbar is the web master of Key Club. The goal of this competition between Key Club and UNICEF is to raise as much money as possible between the two clubs and to get people excited to raise money.

“We want our students to have a international view and other perspectives aside from the culture that we grow up in, I feel like this project is really good because you get to see how the little things such as 50 cents can impact people across the globe” said Alyssa Ackbar (’19).
