MyNejia Milsaps is a sophomore at Robinson and a Staff Writer for Knight Writers. This is her first year on staff. Milsaps was originally brought to journalism by her interest in yearbook but would eventually end up in newspaper. She hopes to mainly write sports stories but is also interested in pursuing other stories around the school. "I kinda want to do a little bit of everything, but mostly sports," she says. "I'm one of those people who likes to access all that I can." Milsaps has two sisters, two dogs and a cat. Both of her parents served in the Air Force and Army before retiring and joining the department of defense. With both of her parents currently working as intelligence analysts, Milsaps draws major inspiration from their work and service. "It's really fun to see what my parents do and really cool to learn what they do," she says. Milsaps passion for sports began as a little kid, and she hasn't restricted herself to just one sport. A common theme through her life is that she can never just do one thing, she is always looking for more. "I did cross country, soccer, flag football, a little bit of swimming and basketball," she said. While she has loved any sport she tried, basketball has always had a special place in her heart. "Basketball is my number one," Milsaps said. "When I was little, I watched Space Jam, and it was really inspiring." A true polymath, Milsaps also loves to create and learn music. She plays trumpet, piano and guitar. "I started trumpet in third grade, and I was in rock band in elementary school," she says "I did that for about three years, and then I started playing by myself." Beyond high school, Milsaps has several plans for her future. While she plans to go to Florida State, South Florida, or the University of Tampa. She plans to pursue a career as an FBI agent, a journalist, or a therapist for kids who have gone through, or are in, the adoption system. "I have always wanted to be an FBI Agent because they are cool and secretive in what they do and how they do their work. Another career I am really interested in is being a journalist, I think the main reason is because my mom talks so profoundly about her jobs and what she does. I'm also interested in being a therapist for kids being adopted or put through the adoption system because when I was adopted, I was in therapy for a couple years. It was a lot of emotions, and it really helped me out. If there is anything I can do to help someone whose going through a hard time, then I'm going to be the best person for them." Milsaps said.  

Anika Sanka is a junior at Robinson and this is her second year on staff. This year, she will be serving as the Knight Writer's features editor. She is an active club member at Robinson, acting as the vice president of the book club and the donation head for the clothes for kids club. She also runs for the Robinson track team outside of school. Sanka says one of the things she really likes about the Robinson track team is its structure. "Running doesn't really seem that hard, but just motivating yourself to go on a run when you could just be sitting at home is hard," Sanka said. "That and the team, it's always more fun to do stuff with friends." After growing up reading the newspaper regularly, Sanka joined the staff to have fun while learning, and she says it has been very beneficial to her writing over the years. "It's really easy to get writers block, and this just helps you. The more you practice, the better you are, the easier it'll come," Sanka said. "I think it's really helped me expand my writing skills." Her goals for this year are to create an exceptionally good print issue for the paper. Outside of school, Sanka's hobbies include reading good books, baking, swimming recreationally, and running to a fun playlist. "I think it makes me more efficient, sometimes, if I just come home and I'm trying to do my homework, I have a hard time focusing. If I do something else before, and don't go straight into that, it helps me focus," Sanka said. Her plans for after high school include attending college and going into pre-law. "There's so many different kinds of things you can do," Sanka said regarding the pre-law track, "you could do business, you could just be in meetings all day, or you could be talking to people about how to get their green card. I just like that there's so many different ways you can use your degree."
