A New Direction for One Direction
March 25, 2015
This week is pure chaos. It’s the end of the third quarter, teachers are giving last-minute tests, and grades are not yet finalized. But let’s focus on the real tragedy here (no, it is not my grade in physics or the huge AP Euro three-chapter test I still need to study for): Zayn Malik left One Direction.
I DO NOT NEED THIS RIGHT NOW, OKAY. NOT TODAY. EVER.
Malik, who was supposedly caught cheating recently on his fiancee of two years, Perrie Edwards, “temporarily” left amidst the band’s 2015 On the Road Again tour. Outraged, the star tweeted: “I’m 22 years old… I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there’s a lot of jealous f*cks in this world and I’m sorry for what it looks like x.”
It was said that he would eventually return, and even rumored that he would be at one of the tour’s upcoming shows. Not.
In a statement released after these assumptions by the band’s official Facebook page, it was announced that “After five incredible years, Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction.”
Malik also added that he chose to leave because he wanted “to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
I love One Direction, but they need to get their act together. I respect Zayn’s decision and his personal life, but this needs to be handled in a better manner. People are literally going insane.
Like this week could not get worse, right?
One Direction without Zayn Malik is like PB&J without the peanut butter. Sure, jelly is good on its own, but it just is not satisfying enough.
