At long last, the Knights played their first home game on the brand-new field on Friday, Sept. 8, facing off against the Strawberry Crest Mustangs. A cowboy-hat-clad student section watched as a slow game turned into a win for the Knights.
The game started with the Mustangs pulling ahead, as they scored the first touchdown of the game and brought the score to 0-9 at the end of the first quarter. As the second quarter began, the Knights scored, bringing themselves neck-to-neck with the Mustangs.
As the game continued after halftime, Robinson held their spirit and came out with a 34-9 win against Strawberry Crest.
“I think the team played great! We need to improve on coming out and firing first instead of waiting until the second half of the game,” Samaud Jones (’24) said.
