Last Monday, Robinson flag football had their season-opener against Newsome and won 25-0.
Haidyn Spano (’25), quarterback, led the team with both rushing yards per game and scored three total touchdowns.
“Our defense was really good, especially because we lost one of our key players. Even with that, we were able to adapt pretty well and offensively we ran the ball more, which seemed to help against Newsome,” Spano said.
Izzy Harris (’27) also ends up getting the ball, as one of two freshmen on varsity. Despite being a relatively fresh player on the field, she was able to make significant plays.
“I think I did pretty good; I was so nervous, but I was able to get a pick as safety,” Harris said.
