Dewey Mitchell field buzzing with excitement after a junior varsity flag football win, spectators were anxious to watch the Robinson varsity flag football game.
To start the game, Knights wide receiver Sara Williams (’27) scored a touchdown and put up 6 points for the knights. Earning the extra point, this brough the score of the game to 7-0 for the knights.
“It’s best to get things done early in the game, keep the other team on their toes,” Williams said.
However, the Longhorns did not go down easy. Within the next few plays, Lennard made it into the endzone bringing the score to 7-6. Not losing any steam, the Longhorns charged on, scoring another touchdown and bringing the score to 7-13 by the halt-time mark.
Coming out of a half-time pep talk from head coach Joshua Saunders, the Knights came back into the game with a vengeance. They put another touchdown on the score board, bringing the score to 13-13. The game stayed tied until the end of the 3rd quarter.
In the end, the Longhorns secured another touchdown, bringing the score to 13-27.
“It’s easy to lose motivation when you are used to winning, but you have to lose to feel the wins,” Saunders said.
