MidKnight Snacks: Halloween Edition

If you’re planning on throwing a Halloween party this year, here are four simple Halloween treats you can make for your guests. Not only are these treats delicious, but they are perfect to get you and your friends in the Halloween spirit!

As Halloween is creeping around the corner it’s time to think about the spooky treats that you can make too serve at your Halloween party! However, I understand that for some, it can be difficult to come up with fun and festive foods for your guests, especially if you’re not that creative. Luckily for you, I have come to offer you my help. I have compiled some of my favorite Halloween treats, just for you! These four simple treats are not only good to eat, but they are also easy and fun to make! All you will need for these delicious, yet inexpensive treats are a few simple ingredients from your pantry or from your local grocery store. Making these treats for your friends will most definitely make your Halloween party the best one of the night! Your Halloween treats will be so deliciously good, that your friends will think it’s a trick on how quick it took you to make them!

1. Graveyard Pudding Cups

When I was younger I would always make these during Halloween and they were always a favorite amongst my friends! Not only are they super fun to make, but the chocolaty goodness makes it all the better! With the crushed up Oreos and the gummy worms on top, what’s not to like about these graveyard pudding cups!

Ingredients:
  • Oreos
  • Gummy worms
  • Clear plastic cups
  • Ziploc bag
  • Rolling pin
Instructions:
  1. Add half of the pudding cup into a clear plastic cup
  2. Place Oreos in a Ziploc bag and crush them up (a rolling pin works best)
  3. Put the Oreo crumbs on top of the pudding that’s inside the plastic cup
  4. Place the remainder of the pudding on top of the Oreo crumbs
  5. Put another layer of Oreos on top of the pudding
  6. Add your gummy worms

2. Bite sized  bats

I love Reese’s, which is why I had to add this treat to the list of my Halloween food favorites! These bite sized bats will surely give you a chocolate overload, but every bite is worth the calories! Not only is it a treat that you can whip up in minutes, but it’s also a perfect Halloween display to put on your kitchen table!

Ingredients:
  • Reese’s peanut butter cups
  • Chocolate of your choice
  • Oreos
  • Candy Eyeballs
Instructions:
  1. Place the peanut butter cups on a baking tray
  2. Cut the Oreos in half
  3. Melt the chocolate
  4. Place each half of the Oreo on both sides of the Reese’s w/ the melted chocolate
  5. Put two candy eyeballs in the center of the Reese’s w/ the melted chocolate

3. Pretzel Pumpkins

You can never go wrong with chocolate covered pretzels, which is why they are a must have at any Halloween party! However, instead of the plain chocolate covered pretzels you’re used to, the orange chocolate topped with the green M&M’s gives these pretzels a perfect twist to get you and your friends in the Halloween spirit!

Ingredients:
  • Pretzels
  • White Chocolate
  • Orange food coloring
  • Green M&M’s
  • Parchment paper
Instructions:
  1. Microwave the white chocolate for 1 minute
  2. Add the orange food coloring to the white chocolate and mix until blended
  3. Dip the pretzels into the white chocolate
  4. Place pretzels on parchment paper
  5. Add a green M&M on the top-middle of the pretzels

4. Spider Web Caramel Apples

Ingredients:
  • Apples
  • White chocolate or any preferred chocolate
  • Caramel
  • Lollipop sticks
Instructions:
  1. Wash apples and dry them
  2. Place the lollipop stick through the top of the apple
  3. Melt the chocolate and carmel
  4. Drizzle the chocolate and caramel over the apple, until well coated
  5. Place apples in refrigerator to cool
