In promoting their new album, “A Head Full of Dreams,” Coldplay released a new track a month before the full album is scheduled to release on Dec. 4. This album will be the band’s seventh studio album and will feature big artists such as Tove Lo and Beyoncé. The new song, “Adventure of a Lifetime,” will be accompanied by ten more tracks.

The single opens with a light electric guitar melody that plays throughout the chorus. The band utilizes a deep bass, chiming, and other electronic sounds to create an upbeat song that follows Coldplay’s usual style. The playfulness of the track matches the colorful, geometric album cover. My favorite portion of the track is the ending. The lead singer, Chris Martin, sings the melody and other vocals mimic his voice.

The song is simply about life and love. Some of my favorite lyrics include “I’m a dream, I die by light of day” and “Under this pressure, under this weight, we are diamonds taking shape.” These lyrics go along with the overall relaxed tone of the song.

Coldplay constantly proves their talent in making music. They are seven albums in and still going strong. If the rest of the album is anything like this new single, I will definitely be purchasing it.
