The wait is finally over! After three long years, Wallows has finally released their second-ever album “Tell Me That It’s Over”. Most of you probably know them from their song “Are You Bored Yet?”, which went viral on TikTok before the pandemic started. But unlike their debut album “Nothing Happens”, “Tell Me That It’s Over” brings back nostalgic memories and in my opinion, is made for car rides.

The album starts with the song “Hard to Believe”, which has this really funky tune to it, making it perfect as a track one song. The drums, guitars and everything were just flawless and no, I’m not overexaggerating. They capture their audience in such a special way because of how realistic their lyrics make us feel. One minute I’m opening up Spotify and the next, I’m sobbing to my pillow in the middle of the night. I have to say, even though these lyrics are pretty deep and more on the sad side, Wallows manages to make it into a happy song for hopeless romantics.

Listening to this album reminded me of growing up and my struggles as a teenager. These songs hurt me but at the same time brought so much life to my soul. It’s the realization of falling in love and getting hurt from it that makes this album so relatable and raw. For me at least, I also have no idea what I am going to do with my life after school, which was another thing that was brought up a lot as the closing tracks got nearer.

My favorite song from the track though would have to be “Guitar Romantic Search Adventure.” There are only three words to describe this song: bittersweet yet thrilling. The buildup to this song left me speechless and let me tell you, my jaw dropped. The drop of the beat reminds me of the end of an era; this would be the song I would play at my High School graduation. Although this song is one of the slower ones, it ended the album on the right foot.

Even though the album is only 33 minutes and 58 seconds, I promise that it’s worth all your time. I’m not even going to lie, I feel like a new person after listening to all the songs and as someone who is very picky with their music, this was effortlessly a no-skip album. I was for sure on a rollercoaster full of emotions, but I am telling you I’ve never felt so connected to an album before listening to “Tell Me That It’s Over”. Not to mention, they are also going on tour this year and the next and are coming to St. Petersburg, FLA. on May 26, 2022. The Wallows fan base is also expanding which is very exciting and I can’t wait to see what the three of them are going to release next because they are truly lyrical masters.
