Cecilia Cheng is a junior at Robinson and the A&E Editor for Knight Writers. This is her second year on staff and her second year as an editor.
Having been at RHS for three years, Cheng’s influence can be seen in many areas of the school. She is the current Precalculus Co-Captain and Social Media Manager for Mu Alpha Theta; Communications Liaison for the Women in STEM Club; and Treasurer for the Key Club.
Outside of school, Cheng is a self-labeled “Swiftie,” fan of "Criminal Minds" and "Heartstopper." She loves hanging out with her cohorts of friends, making friendship bracelets for them and scrolling through Tik Tok all day. Despite an active social life, Cheng’s favorite activity is just the opposite.
“[My favorite thing to do is] to sleep because I get, like, no sleep,” Cheng said. “I have a really busy schedule and I try to get as much sleep in as I can.”
Her favorite part of Journalism is taking photos, something that she hopes to improve on throughout her Junior year. When she does write however, consistent with what she edits and her opinionated personality, she adores writing A&E stories.
“[A&E is the best section] because everyone can write it and you can editorialize it,” Cheng said.
With all of her leadership positions and academic prowess, Cheng has very high aspirations for her life after high school; Cheng aspires to go to Columbia University to major in either Engineering or Biochemistry.
“My top choice would be Columbia because I was born in NYC and I love the city,” Cheng said. “But it’s really competitive, so realistically, I would say UF (University of Florida) because of bright futures and I would also be familiar with the environment."
