Ariana Grande is a very talented and busy woman. Between owning R.E.M beauty, starring in Wicked and continually producing new albums, it’s a mystery to me how Grande is able to put everything on pause and go on tour. Her last tour was in 2019 for the album Sweetener, so eager fans are grabbing tickets desperately.
There are multiple factors that go into the paranoia surrounding getting tickets to Grande’s upcoming tour. The first of many is the size of the venues she’s performing in. Throughout social media, I have seen many fans fuming over the fact that Grande opted for smaller venues over stadiums for this upcoming tour. Although it could be for many different reasons, some fans speculate that the choice is due to the Manchester Bombing at her concert in 2017. Another possible reason is that with her expansion into many different fields, Grande is opting for a more intimate and fan-focused experience.
I completely understand these decisions, however I believe that she underestimated the amount of die-hard fans. There are rumors circulating that when the pre-sale tickets were announced, 10 million people signed up to get them. This number is already insane as it is, and what makes the situation even worse is the amount of resellers. All over social media, videos were appearing of fans buying tickets from 1,000 to 12,000, including Ticketmaster fees. The chaos has gotten to the point where Grande herself posted on her instagram story about the situation.
“Hi my angels, I have been on set all week, but I wanted to let you know that what’s been happening with the secondary ticket resellers has been brought to my attention,” Grande said. “Of course, I am incredibly bothered by it. I’ve been on the phone every second of my free time, fighting for a solution.”
Even though the limited amount of tickets has been overshadowing the joy of the tour announcement, there are still many aspects to look forward to. Grande’s newest album, “eternal sunshine,” has many new popular songs that will be even more angelic when she sings them live. Some of her hits on this album include “intro (end of the world),” “the boy is mine,” “yes, and?” and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love).” She has been through so many eras within both her life and music career, so nobody quite knows what to expect.
During the Sweetener tour, Grande was still rocking her signature high ponytail and unbelievably sharp heels. Recently however, through interviews and Instagram posts, it’s obvious she’s leaning into a softer aesthetic. As a frequent listener of her music, if I could recommend an outfit, it would probably have lace and a bow. This gentle, blonde and quiet version of her life has infiltrated her music in the best way.
For those who have the funding and the determination to get a seat at her concert, Grande will be playing three nights in Sunrise, Florida at Amerant Bank Arena. From the attitude surrounding the announcement, it should be a very intimate and special experience for anyone who is able to make it. Whether you’re in the pit or watching videos from the concert on TikTok, this new tour is definitely going to be something special.
