Today’s senior of the day is Robinson’s traditional class valedictorian Aaliyah Gordon.

She has participated in numerous sports such as cross country, track, flag football and basketball.

On the Robinson flag football team she holds the position of starting linebacker. During the 2014 flag football season she had the privilege to assist Robinson High School defeat their biggest rival Seminole Ridge High School. This victory took place at the state championships in Tallahassee, Fla.

Not only did she help flag football earn their first state title, she was also captain of the basketball team during the ’13-’14 school year. She held an average of 7.5 points per game as a forward.

She participated on the track team, and was part of the 4 by 800 meter relay that placed 6th in the state meet in 2013. She also ran cross country and contributed to the first district championship for the team.

Gordon will attend the US Naval Academy in the fall.

“My advice [to those who strive for great things] is to just do your best, I didn’t set out to be top of my class , my goal was to just do my best, and work hard,” said Gordon. “That ended up getting me to places, and put me in the position where I had the opportunity to make something of myself. So my advice would be to do the best that you can, because you never know where that might take you.”
