Over the past three years on Knight Writers, the journey has been both tough and rewarding, shaping me in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Initially, I doubted that this was the right class for me, but persistence paid off. Through exploring different sections, I discovered my passion for storytelling and honed my writing skills. The newspaper staff became a place where I could expand my world, stepping out of my comfort zone to engage with people I would’ve never even spoken to.
Beyond the bylines and headlines, it was moments that I shared with friends that truly made my experience. The late-night writing, the constant laughs and the unwavering support during times of doubt are memories I will always cherish. As I prepare to begin a new chapter of life, I will forever carry with me the lessons learned from my time at Knight Writers.
To the future staff of Knight Writers, I encourage you to embrace every opportunity you are given and to always go above and beyond what you think you are capable of. Your journey in newspaper will not only shape your academic career but also your personal growth in ways you cannot yet fathom.
Now that my time has come to an end on staff, I highly encourage those who have a passion for writing to join the newspaper. It will be a rewarding experience that you will never forget and always fondly look back on. In the fall of 2024, I will be attending Fort Valley State University to major in Forensic and Plant Science.
