I joined this class accidentally. I liked to write a bit and thought that’s all the class was about. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I almost left the class, but Mrs. Webster convinced me to stay, and instead of writing, she let me illustrate for Knight Writers. Being part of this program for the last three years has been my best decision. It has helped me branch out of my comfort zone, as well as taken me on great adventures, from attending FSPA states to flying to Philly. And for my senior year, I was given the unique title of “Lead Illustrator,” making me feel more special to be part of the staff. Knight writers have helped me not only develop and grow closer to the school but also with my art. I’ve discovered that depending on what the story is about, the style of work that I create changes to help the reader better visualize the story or topic. This class has helped me become more creative and more comfortable creating unique illustrations, much better than most art classes I’ve taken. Thank you to everyone, especially Mrs. Webster, for everything that you’ve done for me and for helping me keep my creativity.
