The saying “Once a Knight, Always a Knight” has carried through multiple generations. And it goes for Robinson High School alumnus turned principal, David Brown.

The Hillsborough County School Board meeting on Tuesday, June 21 named new district leaders for the 2022-23 school year, including Brown as Robinson’s principal. Brown previously worked as the 9-12 Social Studies Education Supervisor for the district and continued it during his interim principal duties.

“He wears many hats and he did both jobs [Department Supervisor and Interim Principal] while he was at Robinson High School,” said HCPS Superintendent Addison Davis.

Last month, Robert Bhoolai, Robinson’s principal of six years, announced he would be leaving the school district to work with a nationwide professional development firm. His leave of absence during the fourth quarter of the 2021-22 school year reintroduced Brown to the  Knights’ territory.

“I said I would always go back and be a principal at two schools, [one of them being Robinson] because I think the kids are great here. I think it’s a great school, it’s small and everybody gets to know each other,” Brown said in a previous interview with RHSToday.
