The PTSA’s yearly glam shop, where Robinson students can go to receive formal clothes for prom, is open from April 15 to April 17 during all lunches. The Glam Shop operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is free to all students.
“We’re just trying to get people to find their fashion sense,” fashion club member and Glam Shop organizer Lorissa Dalalau (’26) said. “Something they feel comfortable in, something that makes them feel happy and accomplished.”
The glam shop has been operating for three years now.
“The glam shop’s just about helping people feel comfortable in something they can own, [and helping them] just feel beautiful and unique,” club member Dalia Campbell (’26) said.
Donated clothing, much of it given from the local South Tampa community, is catalogued and gone through to ensure that it is of good quality. Additional donations can be delivered to Robinson before school or during lunch hours.
“Everything is free of charge, and we also allow students to take [clothing] for other events, even if it’s not for prom,” PTSA sponsor Alissa Ackley said. “If you need a dress for something, or a jacket or a shirt, you’re more than welcome to come in and shop. All we ask is that you respect what’s in here and pass the word to anyone else who might come in and find it useful.”
