Imagine this, you are chilling in the car around 8:20 starting to pull up to the school. There’s an unusual amount of traffic, and you are sitting parked all the way into the neighborhood. The line is constantly starting and stopping, so it’s not until 8:25 that you even see the school. You barely make it in time for class. The reason for this traffic is people stopping in front of the school to get out of their cars. While I can understand not wanting to walk across the entirety of campus to get to class, you shouldn’t make the rest of us late instead.
First of all, we’re not supposed to drop people off in the front anyways. There have been police, signs and teachers placed there specifically to keep people from pulling in front of the office or just stopping in the middle of the road to let students out. It was better when these obstacles were there, because while some still stopped, for the most part everyone went into the normal drop off line. However, for some reason the school removed them after winter break, and people went right back to holding up the line.
You may not want to be late, but don’t make others late too! I can’t tell how infuriating it is to be sitting in line because someone decided to stop in the middle of the street to get out just to save a couple of minutes. The sheer audacity amazes me as I wait an extra 5 minutes to reach the drop off line.
However, I see why you might be dropped off in front of the school rather than the drop off line. It’s understandable if you need something from the office and don’t want to potentially be late, but other than that there’s no excuse. You can make it across campus in under 3 minutes if you walk a little faster, and if you stop being dropped off in front of the school, the line will move even faster so no one has to worry about being late.
An easy alternative to not stopping the flow of the line is at the entrance of the neighborhood right before Robinson where you wouldn’t stop in the way of everyone else, but you’ll also be able to easily walk to the right side of campus. It’s a win-win situation, so stop adding an extra inconvenience to people’s day. Go through the right line, please.
