When walking into the lunchroom at Robinson, people have the choice to bring their own food, heat things up in the microwave or the most common option: grab a meal from the lunch line. Many people have foods that they look forward to when entering the cafeteria, so here is my ranking of the top 5 foods to see after being hungry from a long morning of classes.
5th Place- Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza
A classic lunchroom food that serves as a solid option for the day. Although the cheese pizza doesn’t provide students with protein, and pepperoni does not have much in comparison, the option of pizza fills you up while also being tasty. Pizza is one of the staples of the lunchroom and rightfully deserves a spot on my list.
4th Place- Hot Dogs
Everyone knows that you can’t go wrong with a glizzy, and although sometimes the hot dogs can be a little soggy, they still make for a great meal. Throw some ketchup and/or mustard on your glizzy, and it makes for a great midday meal to get you through the rest of the school day.
3rd Place- Spicy Chicken Sandwich
Bronze goes to the spicy chicken sandwich, and this spot on my list can be reserved for chicken sandwiches in general. The spicy chicken brings a lot of flavor with the right kick of spice to a meal, and the ability to eat two or three of these gives it this spot on the list. I will be looking forward to the next spicy chicken sandwich.
2nd Place- Hamburger/Cheeseburger
Such a team player, when it’s burger day, it’s a good day. A lunch with a cheeseburger and some chips, as well as an ice-cold drink, is pretty unstoppable, and Burger Day puts up some good competition against the number one spot. But it could not pull out the edge to beat the number one food to see when walking into the lunchroom, my favorite, and possibly my GOAT of the lunchroom foods served at Robinson:
1st Place- Calzones
Comparable to getting a 100 percent on a test, or your favorite team scoring a game-winning touchdown. Calzones are the best. This Tom Brady of the lunchroom shows up a lot, and it shows. The long lunch lines illustrate this food’s importance. I love calzones and all Italian food (even though calzones are westernized), and being able to enjoy one of my favorite foods at lunch is a delight.
