Australian actor, singer, and You Tuber, Troye Sivan always seems to be up to something. He just released his second EP, Wild, on September 4. Sivan’s 3.5 million YouTube subscribers have been anxiously waiting for his new music. After gaining support from major artists, such as Taylor Swift and Sam Smith, Sivan reached the top of the iTunes chart in over forty countries. The mini album falls under the dream pop genre and features Tkay Maidza and Broods.

The overall EP is very impressive. Sivan makes transitioning from a YouTube star to a pop star look easy. Wild has a chill vibe. It consists of six remarkable tracks that each have distinct qualities that make them enjoyable. On first listen, Wild didn’t strike me as noteworthy. However, after really listening and paying attention to the strength of Sivan’s voice, I concluded that his album was simply captivating.

Although it was hard to favor, Fools has to be my preferred track. Everything from the lyrics to the sonic textures of the chorus makes this song stand out. I’d like to see this song have its own music video.

With this EP, Troye Sivan has placed himself up there with the best pop stars. Wild is a calming and confident album which possesses a new popular style in the current music industry. With a strong second EP, Sivan has proven that he has what it takes to make a career in music. He can now be seen as a true entertainer, more than just a You Tuber.
