The Knights varsity football team came into their final game of the season 4-5. They hope to emerge with a win to give them a 500% winning percentage in Shawn Taylor’s first year as head coach.
They fell short of this goal, losing 40-10 to Hillsborough High School, a team they have not faced in well over a decade.
But the first half looked promising to Knight’s fans as junior quarterback Darius Autry connected with senior receiver Derrell Gwyn to put Robinson on the board first near the end of the first quarter.
Hillsborough answered within the first 10 seconds of the second quarter to tie the game, 7-7. The Knights never regained the lead and never found the end zone again on offense. Hillsborough’s defense kept them out of a promising drive during the third quarter, but the Knights manage to grab a field goal.
Gwyn led the Knights on offense with 117 yards receiving and the lone touchdown for the Knights.
