In their first game back from holiday break, the Lady Knights basketball team managed to pull off a non-district victory at home over Leto High School, 39-34.
Both came into Thursday’s game having one game in the win column.
Leto ended the first half on a buzzer beating 3-point shot from senior point guard Lianet Castillo, putting them in control, 23-16.
Despite the Knights steadily working their way into the game throughout the third quarter, Leto still had a 32-31 advantage to start the final quarter.
In the closing seconds of the game, junior Erin Dorsey gave Robinson their first lead of the half with a layup after a missed free throw. After additional free throws, the Knights put the game out of reach as the final seconds ticked off the clock.
Dorsey led the Knights in scoring with fifteen.
The boys and girls Knights basketball teams will take the court again tonight versus their district opponent, the Middleton High School Tigers.
The girls play at 6:30 p.m. and the boys play at 8:00 p.m.
