The regional meet for track takes place this Wednesday at Leto High School in Tampa, Fla. In order to qualify, participants had to place in the top four in their events last Wednesday at districts, also held at Leto.

The qualifiers are: Girls 4 by 800 relay: Julia DeYoung (’14), Madison Scanlan (’14), Aaliyah Gordon (’14), and Madison Hull (’14); Girls 1600 meter run: Madison Hull; Girls Pole Vault: Emily Vaughan (’14); Girls Long Jump: Anna Duclos (’16); Boys 4 by 100 meter team: Trevon Hosley; Boys 800 meter run: Jack Rogers (’15); Boys 1600 meter run: Jack Rogers (’15) and Fredrick Stanford (’14); and Boys Pole Vault: Sean McGlone (’15).

“I fully expect Jack [Rogers] to make it to states, and the 4 by 100 should be competitive, they have an outside chance of making states. I’m hoping that Sean [McGlone] PR’s, and we are looking for an improved performance from Blake [Stanford],” said Head Boys Coach Manuel Montero.

The girls 4 by 800 is currently seeded 8th, and Madison Hull 5th in the 1600.

In order to move on to the state meet at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, athletes must again place in the top four of their event.
