Aaliyah Cole, an IB junior, is new to the JV Cheerleading team, though she is not new to the sport.

“I’ve been cheerleading for a long time; maybe since I was about 2 years old,” said Cole.

Cole did not participate in cheerleading freshman or sophomore year because she was unsure of how much free time the IB program would allow her to have.

This summer, after attending cheer camp and summer conditioning, Cole was made the JV Cheer Captain. She plans on continuing with cheerleading next year.

“I love how much spirit everyone [on the cheerleading team] has! We need more of that in the school.”
