On Jan 31st, the wrestling team will be attending the Live Greco Invitational. The invitational is to honor Greco Roman Bouzakis, a 3 year old recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer.

“They’re going to give out championship belts to the winners, so it’s a good fundraiser and also a good tournament for us to go too,” said Coach Thomas Montero.

The tournament is open to the first 16 teams that come and it costs $250. Tournament and Team Greco t-shirts will be on sale at the event.

Weigh-ins start at 8:30 AM and wrestling starts at 9:30 AM. Awards will be given to the top four teams and finalists, as well as awards given to outstanding light and heavy weights.

“We should do fairly well, [though] there’s going to be a lot of competition. I suspect us at top four,” said Montero.

Montero keeps a motto throughout the entire wrestling season.

“We work hard, we wrestle, [and then] we win,”
