Baseball

The Knights (12-5) returned to Lou Garcia Field this week to pick up two wins. On Tuesday night, they needed a three-run fifth inning to escape with a 6-5 win over Lennard. Jake Granese (’18) got the win, pitching four and two-thirds innings while allowing just one run. Robinson got another win on Thursday against Sickles, shutting out the Gryphons by a score of 4-0. Michael Tini (’16) threw six innings, allowing just five hits and two walks while striking out six batters.

Softball

Robinson picked up its third straight win on Tuesday, beating Lennard by a score of 11-1. Cassidy Renninger (’18) finished the night with two doubles, a single and three runs scored. On Thursday night, the team’s winning streak came to an end as they fell to Sickles by a score of 9-2. The Lady Knights will host Blake on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Boys Lacrosse 

The Knights’ record fell to 2-9 on Wednesday with a 14-2 loss at Jesuit. Bennett Spence (’17) and Zach Iseler (’17) picked up goals in the losing effort. The team will have to shift focus to its next game, which is Tuesday night at Freedom (17410 Commerce Park Blvd, 33647).

Girls Lacrosse

The Lady Knights had their eight-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday, falling 7-6 to Academy of the Holy Names in overtime. Alexa Keeler (’17), Madeline King (’16), Carolina Cassedy (’18) and Rachel Hendry (’19) each scored a goal, while Mary Elizabeth Ward (’16) found the back of the net twice. They will return to action next Tuesday at Freedom (17410 Commerce Park Blvd, 33647).

Boys Tennis

Robinson lost its third straight match on Tuesday, falling to Plant by a score of 7-0. Finishing the regular season with a record of 7-4, the Knights will now get ready for districts, which are next Monday and Tuesday at Hillsborough Community College (39 Columbia Drive, 33606).

Girls Tennis

Robinson suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday at Plant, falling 4-3. The team ended the regular season with a 10-1 record and will now look to districts on Monday and Tuesday at Hillsborough Community College (39 Columbia Drive, 33606).

Boys Track

Select members of the team traveled to Jefferson Wednesday for the Hillsborough County American Conference Championships, a qualifying meet for next Tuesday’s Hillsborough County Championship. Qualifiers are as follows: Christian Pete (’16), first in the 100m dash with a 11.00 and fifth in the 200m dash with a 23.09; Dannys Marrero, third in the 1600m run with a 4:40.47 and third in the 800m run with a 2:04.59; Keldric Preston (’16), first in the discus with a 138-04.50 and second in the shot put with a 45-04.50; Almosse Titi (’18), sixth in the discus with a 118.06-.50; and Mason Gonzalez (’18), third in the pole vault with a 11-06.00. The team travels to King (6815 N 56th St, 33610) on Saturday for the Manuel/Griffin/Fryhoffer Relays.

Flag Football

Robinson improved to 3-0 this week, picking up a 41-0 win on Monday over Blake and a 58-0 win on Thursday against Brooks Debartolo. In Monday’s win, Kayla Knowlton (’16) threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns while Olivia Salzman (’17) threw for 94 yards and two touchdowns. On Thursday, Knowlton threw for five touchdowns and Charlotte Tuohy (’17) caught two while the defense allowed just 76 yards.
