In their fourth consecutive regional final win against Lely, the Lady Knights swept the Trojans in three sets, 25-8, 25-16 and 25-17.

“Coming into the game, I knew we’ve played tougher teams than this,” head coach Stephanie Turner said. “And we just needed to come in, stay focused and get the job done right off the bat.”

Captain McKenna Tyson (’17) led the team with 12 kills, bringing her season total to 200, while Kristin Werdine (’19) finished the night with seven kills and 18 digs. Captain Emily Draper (’17) racked up three aces and 18 digs and Christiana Rolack (’18) ended with two blocks.

“I didn’t want tonight to be my last game. I wanted to give it my best effort no matter what happened, before the game I was telling myself I was going to leave it all on the court,” Rolack said. “I’m ready to play in the State Semis, we’ve worked hard to get here and we deserve this chance.”

Robinson shut down Lely in the first set, and sealed victory in the second set off of four consecutive kills from Tyson. The third set proved tougher, with Lely taking the lead in the beginning of the first set, 5-2. Key kills from Werdine, Tyson and Elly Frierson (’18) helped the Knights rally to shut down the Trojans in three.

The Knights will face Bishop Moore this Saturday, Nov. 5 in the FHSAA 6A State Semifinals. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at Bishop Moore (3901 Edgewater Dr, Orlando, FL 32804).
