In their second district game of the season, the Knights played Blake High School at home on Friday night and took home their first win of the season with a score of 8-1. The Knights seemed very prepared and focused to try to beat the Yellow Jackets and ended up defending nearly all of their opponents’ shots with the exception of one in the first few minutes of the game.

“I think it was a good win,” Grey Mischka (’19) said. “I think we all played well and it was a good learning experience.” Mischka scored two of the eight goals in the game.

“We would like to take this first win and instruct our players in what they did right and do more of it,” Head Coach Manuel Montero said. The Knights have four more district games this season and two more games next week. “Hopefully against Middleton and Spoto we can keep it up.”

He also had a lot of good things to say about his players. “We have a lot of good leaders,” Montero said. “In a game where you score eight goals, there’s a lot of compliments to be spread around.”

Stefan Miller (’19) scored the first goal for Robinson in the first few minutes and the Knights kept the lead into the half, 5-1. After the half, their defense stopped Blake from scoring and their offense scored three more goals.

Mischka, who plays right middle, is optimistic about his team going forward. “I hope we can continue to win and get better as a team.”
