Girls and boys Knights were celebrated on their senior night this Tuesday, April 1 starting at 5 p.m. against Bloomingdale High School.
Girls were celebrated first before their game celebrating seven seniors. They walked down the field with the Boys team holding their sticks up making a walkway for them. The girls walked down with their family with bright smiles and cheer celebrating themselves.
After this celebration the girls played a close game against Bloomingdale with the score being 9-8 and the end score of the game was 10-14.
Girls Captain Mae Allbritton (’25) thinks the game went well overall and is proud of her teammates.
“I felt like even though it was a loss, I was proud of our team because we had one sub, and the other team had two teams worth, and I feel like we were more conditioned than them,” Allbritton said. “I am so proud of our team for how far they have come this season and I’m sad that its coming to an end soon but I’m also really excited to see their progress in the future.”
After this the senior boys had their turn to be celebrated with the girls holding their sticks up also making a walkway along the field. The boys celebrated 14 seniors. Afte this the boys played a close game with a final score of 9-8.
Captain Alex Huynh (’25) thinks the game could’ve started better but played well overall.
“I think the game was okay. We were definitely a better team; we were just playing sloppy until the end of the game where we started playing well,” Huynh said. “It was also satisfying as they were talking a lot of trash.
Coach and recent Alumni Sophia D Amore wishes the seniors the best for the future and expresses her gratitude.
“The seniors this year have made the job so enjoyable. Being able to give them their final season was such a blessing,” D’Amore said. “I can’t wait to go and see what they do in their lives and I know whatever they do it will be great.”
