Jasmyn Mitchner is a sophomore at Robinson and is a staff writer for Knight Writers. This is her first year on staff.
As her first year in newspaper, Mitchner looks forward to writing stories and is hoping to improve her photography skills this year.
"English has always been my favorite subject because I like to write essays about things I'm passionate about and I love poetry as well," Mitchner said.
Mitchner is involved in clubs and sports at Robinson. She is the class representative of PTSA and is a general member of the Student Government Association (SGA). Mitchner also plays soccer and flag football for the school. She is planning on going to college after high school and going into the health field.
"I am passionate about sports and helping people. So, I want to go to college for soccer and study nursing to one day become a neonatal nurse," Mitchner said.
Last year, Mitchner tied the record for the highest goal scorer in Robinson's soccer history as a freshman.
Mitchner likes to not only play sports in her free time, but also likes to hang out with friends and enjoys listening and singing music.
"I like to listen to old R&B; I love the songs Candy Rain and I love listening to Drake and SZA. Also, I like going to concerts like Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent," Mitchner said.
