Liam Eichberg is a junior at Robinson. This is his first year as a staff writer for the Knight Writers.

Eichberg has always enjoyed nonfiction writing, including music and artificial intelligence. This led his sophomore-year English teacher, Eric Smithers, to recommend that he join newspaper. 

“I’m excited to start writing. Mainly just doing it consistently and writing in a different style than is typical…even when I’m writing nonfiction, it’s typically not journalistic nonfiction. I’ll go and research anything I’m interested in and just write about it,” Eichberg said. 

In school, his single goal is to graduate. After high school, he plans to go to university, likely in a math-related field. Eichberg admits that he finds it difficult, but fascinating. 

“I treat it like a puzzle, a lot of the time. It’s satisfying to get to the end. IB, especially HL math, helps to give problems that are satisfying to solve,” Eichberg said.

He chose to join IB for the credits and the academic challenge.

“[I’m] just looking to keep going through the year,” Eichberg said.

On staff, Eichberg aims to improve his writing skills, while writing about his passions, like music, and guitar. 

“My interest in music is pretty recent I guess it was just me starting to listen on my own. I play guitar a lot,” Eichberg  said. “I love music. I mostly play jazz, but I listen to all kinds of stuff. So, I’ve got a bunch of jazz artists, Duke Ellignton, John Coltrane.”
