“This whole story is completely true. Except for all the parts that are totally made up.” This is the disclaimer that starts off every episode of the new Netflix original “Inventing Anna,” the nine-part limited series that tells the story of Anna Sorokin.

The drama follows Sorokin through her journey in the New York socialite scene, as she adopts the identity of Anna Delvey, a German heiress with millions of dollars sitting in her account back home. The catch is, there was no money to Sorokin’s name and the alleged heiress scammed New York’s elite out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Although “Inventing Anna” stretches the truth, the true allure of this story is something you can’t quite make up. The thought of an average girl climbing to the top rung of the New York social ladder with just some confidence and claim to wealth is absolutely intriguing and Netflix does a perfect job of putting it on the screen.

Each episode of “Inventing Anna” is around an hour-long and with nine episodes, the drama is a somewhat long watch. Despite this, I finished the whole show in just two days, unable to tear myself away from my screen, anxious to know what comes next for the faux German heiress.

Netflix does an amazing job telling the story of Sorokin, the costuming and the scenery painting a picture of the absurdly lavish lifestyle the con artist lived. With outrageous accounts and unfathomable scenarios (that may or may not be true), “Inventing Anna” never failed to keep me on the edge of my seat, as I watched episode after episode- dying to know what happens next in the world of Anna Delvey.

Netflix’s original “Inventing Anna” is an absolutely addictive show and totally worth the watch. The story had me completely hooked and every actor put on an amazing performance. I definitely recommend “Inventing Anna” to anyone looking for a new drama or who wants to learn more about the story of Anna Sorokin.
