It’s getting cooler outside and the leaves are falling, which means fall is here. Chick-Fil-A has kicked off the fall season by releasing their limited-time Autumn Spice Milkshake in the U.S.

Released Monday, September 12, this new milkshake consists of a creamy Vanilla ice cream base, mixed with cinnamon and bits of brown sugar spice cookies and topped off with whip cream and a cherry.

Though the service was quick and easy, upon receiving my milkshake, the first thing I noticed was that my cherry was not there. For others, this may not bother them, but I enjoy a good cherry in my shakes. There also wasn’t much whip cream, and it was all melted by the time I arrived home. Overall, presentation and portion-wise, I would rate it a 6/10.

Now, the milkshake flavor was perfectly divided between the spices and ice cream. The flavor of the spices wasn’t overpowering or too sweet like other milkshakes, which I enjoyed. While it was subtle, you can still taste everything from the cinnamon to the brown sugar. I also enjoyed the brown sugar cookie bits as they added texture and an extra kick of flavor to it. Overall, I was satisfied with the flavors, as they were good and not too overpowering.

A takeaway I got from this shake is if you have an issue with textures, then this may not be the shake for you. Though there isn’t an overwhelming amount, there are chunks of brown sugar cookie bits that may ruin the shake for you. Like every other milkshake, the whip cream and cherry are optional, so that wouldn’t be an issue if you prefer your shake without them.

Even though I’m not the biggest milkshake fan, I’ll definitely be going back for more. This milkshake captures the fall season flawlessly with all the spices along with the cookie bits and is the thing you need to complete a perfect fall day.
