With the all-loved Jeremiah’s Italian Ice closing its doors, the Hungry Greek has come in replacement. The Hungry Greek is advertised to be a healthy and authentic Greek restaurant, and it definitely does live up to those expectations.
I got a grilled chicken pita. This dish consists of lettuce, tomato, onions and grilled chicken with pita bread on the bottom. This was absolutely delicious. While the lettuce and tomato weren’t too special in any way, the onion definitely stood out. I’ve been to restaurants before where the onion tastes like nothing. At the Hungry Greek, it had a definite place in the dish, with a burning feeling in the back of your throat. Although I didn’t entirely enjoy that feeling, I think it also goes to show the quality of the ingredients and how it’s better than other restaurants. The chicken was great, it was still hot by the time I got home and had a faint smoky taste to it. The pita bread was a great combination of both fluffy and toasted.
It was hard to decide if the chicken or the pita bread was better, but my favorite part was the chicken. When I went into the building, I was actually able to see them cooking the chicken which made my experience more enjoyable; I think it’s fun to watch people cook. The meal was overall delicious and very filling. I had a decent portion left that I ate the next day.
The only complaint I have about Hungry Greek is the limited parking. It’s in a strip mall and you might need to go all the way to the other side of it, the parking lot of the Crunch fitness, to be able to find a parking spot. I was lucky enough to get the last parking spot near the restaurant, but if I hadn’t, I would have had to go much further to get a parking spot. To avoid this problem though, DoorDash can deliver Hungry Greek, but it would probably be more expensive. Personally, I think that no matter how you get the Hungry Greek it would be worth it, it’s delicious and good quality.
