Senora Landron’s freshman Spanish class was treated to a fiesta today in honor of Cinco De Mayo. Students munched chips, salsa, queso and tortillas while celebrating the Spanish holiday, which honors the Mexican army’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862. Students also sung the Spanish song “La Bamba” in front of the class in groups of threes and fours.

“It was fun, because we got to see everyone make a fool of themselves [while singing],” said Kyle Freeman (’17).

The singing was more than just fun; it was also a competition. The winning group consisted of Frankie Wilson (’17), Megan Purol (’17), Alyssa Larrinaga (’17), and Grace Jones (’17).
