About the Contributors
Jordan De La Cruz, Sports Editor
Jordan De La Cruz is a senior and is the Sports editor. This is his second year on staff.
De La Cruz is musically inclined and pursues such interest as he is in Robinson’s Drumline and plays instruments in his free time at home. He’s played the guitar since 2021 and began playing the drums for the marching band in 2022. De La Cruz also enjoys attempting new instruments as he's tried to play new instruments like the recorder.
De La Cruz shares a strong connection to music, and he favors listening to Current Joys, Surf Curse and The Frights.
“Music has always been super important to me, not just like listening, but playing it too,” De La Cruz said. “I love indie, alternative and rock. All that good stuff.”
In addition to the Marching Knights and jazz band, De La Cruz is vice president of Keep Our School Beautiful (KOSB) club.
"I enjoy being in KOSB club because my parents have raised me to recycle and it means a lot to me to set that same standard at my school," he said.
What brought De La Cruz to newspaper was his friends, but what kept him in the class was his love for videography and story writing.
“I initially joined this class, because a friend invited me to meet the teacher. I always wanted to do hosting for some videos, but last year I realized my talent was in writing stories,” he said. “I honestly love it so much. I've been very interested in writing sports stories. I hope to go to UF and maybe pursue journalism as a degree.”
With this being his second year and first year in an editorial position, he looks forward to many things in newspaper.
“I'm most looking forward to leaving my mark in newspaper, specifically in how we run the sports section,” De La Cruz said. “I enjoy the work, but especially the people. Some of my closest friends are the people I met through newspaper.”
Ryan Rolle, Website Manager
Ryan Rolle is a junior who will be the Website Manager for the Robinights Newspaper. This is her second year on staff.son Kn
Rolle joined the Knight Writers mainly due to her love of reading and writing, as well as wanting to express her opinions to the world.
"I've always found joy in reading and writing; I think it's so much fun, and I'm also very opinionated. I've always had people tell me that I should be a lawyer, just because I love putting my opinion out there."
During her time on staff, Rolle found an interest in writing A&E for Knights Writers. She felt like it was the perfect opportunity for her to showcase her outlooks and emotions on several topics.
She expressed that her time on staff taught her how to work with, and help, others. It also improved her communication skills and her confidence; Rolle later said that journalism gave her the opportunity to discover both her likes and dislikes. She loves how she can express herself and leave bits of her personality in each of her writing.
Outside of Knight Writers, Rolle plays for the Robinson Varsity Basketball team. She also works with the Tampa Bay rowing team during spring. Rolle has a dog and cat named Tilly and Bella who she adores very much. Rolle stated that three things she couldn't live without would be lip-gloss, because of the collection she has at home; Matcha, due to the number of things she uses it for; and books, because she loves to read for leisure.
Once Rolle graduates she plans on attending Boston University.
"I actually had a college tour this summer and I really liked Boston University," Rolle said. "But if not somewhere in Boston, California is another alternative in my mind."
Over the summer, Rolle worked as a receptionist at a law firm. After graduation, Rolle expressed that she plans to pursue a career that involves either photography or writing. She stated she wants to use her love for journalism even in the future.
"I definitely want to continue journalism, or anything, honestly, that involves writing or photography, because I love taking pictures. So, If I can continue doing that, or even screenwriting for movies...just something around writing in general or maybe even traveling just seems so fun," Rolle said.
Coleton Rone, Staff Writer
Coleton Rone is a junior and a staff writer for the Knight Writers. This is his first year on staff.
Rone is looking toward being one of the new hosts for the Knight Writers' very own Knight Mic and is most excited for the environment and excitement that surrounds it.

Outside of journalism, Rone enjoys tapping into his musical side, he enjoys listening to music and playing his instruments. He plays bass guitar on his own, but academically, Rone plays double bass for Orchestra.
Aside from music, Rone is a true fitness enthusiast at heart, as he enjoys testing his physical limits with weightlifting. He expresses this passion of his by lifting at least 4 times per week.
When he isn't becoming a rising musician and expressing his athletic abilities, Rone spends his free time with his many pets but primarily his cat named Duck while watching Amazing World of Gumball.
When asked about his greatest inspiration, the top person that comes to his mind is his Dad.
"...he's a good person [with] good moral values, and he doesn't do anything despicable or evil," Rone said.
After he leaves Robinson, Rone isn't quite sure what he will do next. He plans on either going to a 4 year university to major in business, or going to a trade school to learn more about a career in mechanics.
