As the holidays approach, there are so many sweet treats to choose from, but all are very time-consuming. Peppermint Bark- on the other hand, is a quick and easy process that only takes 3 simple steps.

Ingredients

  • 1 12oz package of white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp pure peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (peppermints, mints, etc.)
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Wax paper or aluminum foil

Directions

  1. First pour your white chocolate chips into a bowl and microwave in 30-second increments for 2 minutes, making sure to stir every 30 seconds, otherwise you risk the chocolate thickening. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Add in your peppermint extract.
  2. Next, on your foil or paper, pour out the chocolate and smooth down the chocolate with a spoon to your desired thickness. You can crush up your candy of choice and sprinkle it on top as well as other toppings like sprinkles.
  3. Refrigerate for about five minutes until hardened. Break into pieces, serve and enjoy.

The bark contains the perfect amount of peppermint to chocolate ratio and is great if you have a sweet tooth. It fits amazingly with a side of hot cocoa on a cool Florida winter day and is also the perfect snack to serve to family and friends!
