Winners of the 2016 Baaaaad Valentine’s Poem Contest were announced today during A lunch by English teacher Meg Bell. The 25 finalists were awarded with bags of chocolate and Valentine’s Day treats, with the top three poets winning a $20, $30 or $50 Target gift card.

Zoe Gray (’16) took first, with Kennedy Snyder (’17) taking second and Natalia Ayoub (’17) placing third.

“It was fun to participate in the contest because since the emphasis was on being cheesy, it took the pressure off of writing and gave me a lot of creative freedom,” Ayoub said. “It is always fun to read people’s poems because there is a lot of truth in the corny poems that is easy to relate to.”
