Since it’s mid-February it’s time for the annual Florida State Fair that inches closer for the students and residents of Hillsborough County but this year, with changes to the rules.

Students’ Fair Day will be Friday, Feb. 17. Unlike prior years, students 17 years or younger will not be given a ticket for free admission, which Principal Dave Brown wants to stress to students as this is the first year this change has been made.

“In the past years, the school has distributed tickets to students,” Brown said. “However, this year that will not happen.”

Children are required to attend the fair accompanied by an adult, 21 years or older with proof of a valid ID and the student will be eligible for free admission from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. only. An adult can accompany up to four children. IDs will be checked at security checkpoint gates, before entry. After 6 p.m., each day, children must pay full admission and be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 years or older with a valid ID. If you are not accompanied by an adult, you will be told to leave.

Other than these rules, all other rules like food/drinks, bags, and more have all remained the same and can be found on Florida State Fair’s website.
