The boys and girls cross country team pose for a picture after their wins Wednesday afternoon. The teams are lead by head Coach Mark Altimari and assistant coach Melissa Mosseau.

Both the girls and boys cross country teams placed first at district meet today at Pebble Creek Golf Course. This was the first time in school history that a cross country team won the district meet.

For the girls, senior co-captain Julia DeYoung lead the Knights with a 2nd place finish in 19:34.80, with senior co-captain Madison Hull not far behind in fifth with 20:08.40. Also in the top fifteen were seniors Madison Scanlan (9th in 20:57.60) and Arielle Ellis (14th in 21:46).

The boys were lead by Junior Jack Rogers, who won the district meet in 16:48.70. Senior Fredrick Stanford placed 4th in 17:16.50, and juniors Manuel Tejeda and Wade Fitzgerald placed 6th (17:26) and 7th (17:33.40), respectively.

Because of their high finish, both the girls and the boys cross country team will go on to compete in the 3A Region 3 meet. The meet will be held next Saturday, November 2nd, at Dover Trails, and will determine whether the teams move on to the state meet in Tallahassee.

Walking without tripping is not one of her talents, so please do not give her any breakable objects. She is also known to slow down computers in the journalism room because she does not like to close tabs (32 tabs, to be exact). When she's not in the journalism room, she's probably out running for Robinson's cross country or track teams, where she is the captain. Follow her on Twitter @isabelhanewicz and @hanewiczphotos
