Volleyball Loses In Five At Newsome

Fresh off of a state semifinal appearance in 2013, the Lady Knights volleyball team opened up the 2014 regular season on Tuesday night with a matchup at Newsome.

They opened with a close 23-25 loss in the first set before coming back to take the next two by scores of 25-22 and 25-15. After falling 18-25 in the fourth set, they then dropped the final one by a score of 12-15.

Catia Sleet led the Lady Knights with fourteen kills, complemented by Meghan Byrd’s nine kills. McKenna Tyson picked up five aces, while Emily Draper tallied twenty-two digs in the match. Tied for the team lead in assists on the night were Rebecca Hill and Ashley Osiason with thirteen.

Robinson is back in action at 7:00 on Thursday night with their home opener against Lennard.
