Coming off of a District title win against the Bayshore Bruins, the Knights were met with their next challengers on their road to regionals on a chilly afternoon on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The Knights played the Mckeel Wildcats at the Regional quater finals, with a home-field field advantage.
The game started slow, with the Wildcats scoring one goal within the first 15 minutes of the game. Aggresive defense from the Wildcats stopped the Knights from fighting back, leaving them down by two with zero points at the end of the first half.
“I feel we struggled with the massive number of freshmen we received and had to quickly develop them into a player who can significantly help the team,” said goalkeeper and senior Jordyn Johnson.
By the second half of the game, McKeel seemed to find their stride immediately, quickly scoring another point. Despite constant effort from the Knights, they could not seem to put points on the board. Before the clock ran to zero, McKeel scored another two points, making the final score 0-5, and ending the season for Robinson.
“We most succeeded [in the season] when we played Plant, as that’s normally a loss for us, but we dominated them the entire game,” said senior and center back Emma Suarez.
