Baseball

Robinson escaped a Jefferson comeback in Tuesday’s district semifinal, coming away with a 6-3 victory. Michael Tini (’16) pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on six hits. Matthew Steckel (’16) picked up two hits and Mitchell Tozian (’16) came through in the fifth inning with a clutch two-run double to give the Knights some insurance runs. Robinson came up just short in Thursday’s district final against Jesuit, falling by a score of 3-2. Joey Scionti (’17) and Austin Glasgow (’18) finished the night with two hits apiece. The team will head to Zephyrhills (14-13) next Wednesday for the regional quarterfinals.

Softball

The Lady Knights saw their season end on Wednesday night with a 5-4 loss to River Ridge in the regional quarterfinals. Tied at one in the sixth, River Ridge struck for four runs to take a 5-1 lead. Alexis Smith (’19), who homered for Robinson’s first run, came through with a three-run home run in the seventh to bring the team within one. The rally ultimately fell short as the Lady Knights finished the season with an overall record of 16-10.

Flag Football

Sarah Rollins (’16) and Emily Draper (’17) both found the end zone on Monday night as the Knights finished the regular season with a 13-0 win at Alonso. With the win, the team finishes with an 11-1 record. Robinson, winners of 60 straight games against teams from Hillsborough County, starts its playoff run next Monday at home against Chamberlain.
