With the arrival of the winter season, Robinson introduces a holiday themed spirit week filled with creative silly topics for students to dress up to. I personally think this is a great idea to brighten up the hallways and gives students something to look forward to for the week before exams.
Monday we’re starting off strong with Christmas Pajama Day, and while most students already come to school in their pajamas already, this gives them the opportunity to make their outfit more festive. Dig out your favorite feel-good fuzzy pants decorated with anything from reindeer to Santa to little polar bears with mittens! Bonus points if you pull out a matching shirt.
Tuesday is Lumberjack Day and this can seem as basic as slapping on some flannel but you can take it to the next level with jeans, suspenders, or a wooly hat. This may not be the best day out of the bunch, but everyone should have at least something flannel, so I hope to walk into school on Tuesday to find a sea of red and black.
Wednesday is a Winter White Out! This also doubles as a day where we all dress up in one of our beloved school colors so everyone needs to have extra school spirit. This also may look like a boring idea but it’s actually pretty hard to make an entirely white ensemble. A lot of students just throw on a white t-shirt but to show that you’re willing to put in the effort, I challenge you to wear as many white articles of clothing as you can!
Thursday is a Holiday Accessory Day which includes hats, socks, headbands. I for one will be coming to school in my fuzzy snowflake socks, which both keep my feet warm and are absolutely adorable. People can bring Santa hats, antler headbands, or my personal favorite wear Christmas bows in their hair!
Friday is a classic Ugly Sweater Day. Although ugly sweaters aren’t really my jam, I do like to see how creative other students get with them. They can range from sweaters with peoples face on them, have funny slogans, or even light up! I’ve even seen ones that play music, however I strongly urge kids not to bring those to school at risk I die from annoyance. For this day though, the uglier the sweater the better!
Overall, there is a great selection of ideas to dress up for and even if you don’t want to participate in all the days just pick your favorites and go all out. I am a personal lover of the holidays and can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
