As a part of 2026, we are bringing back aspects everyone loved from 2016, like songs, dances, clothing trends and trends in general. Some of these returners are off-the-shoulder tops, portable digital cameras and the Starbucks pink drink. Zara Larsson and her style were also a big part of 2016, and some of her songs and dances are back in.
Some of the most recently popular songs are “Midnight Sun,” “Symphony” and “Lush Life.” “Midnight Sun” is all about an eventful summer, and really gives a summer vibe. It’s an upbeat, faster-paced song and perfect for a summer playlist. “Symphony” is a slower-paced song about someone who falls in love and feels complete with another person, but I also really like hearing it since I remember hearing this song the most in 2016 than any other one of Larsson’s songs. My favorite is “Lush Life” since it isn’t necessarily a fast song, but not slow either – it’s perfect to set the scene for anything.
There are also dances to Larsson’s songs “Lush Life,” “Midnight Sun” and “Stateside.” Depending on the song’s beat, it’s faster or slower paced. All the dances are quite upbeat, though and are somewhat popular on social media again. The most popular one is the “Lush Life” dance, which is the shortest of the dances, making it easier to memorize and do. I really like this dance since you can do it standing in one spot and it requires less room to do it; the dance is more upbeat and just more fun as a whole, in my opinion.
Even though Larsson’s style has never been exactly in fashion, her summer and tropical vibes have always been. Her more famous songs really capture a beach summer in a nutshell, and are shown through her outfits in videos and concerts. Larsson’s music is perfect for a summer playlist.
Larsson made big hits in 2016, and along with other 2016 trends, is setting an impression in 2026. Everyone who misses these trends from before gets to enjoy Larsson again, and with the new generation as well. The songs and dances are back and ready for the summer.
