Any creative or opinionated person should join newspaper. The freedom newspaper gave me to express myself genuinely shaped my high school experience. I was one of only two freshmen to join over three years ago, and I was terrified coming from a middle school where journalism basically meant making yearbook spreads and arguing over fonts. Walking into the newsroom ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve made. Somehow, it immediately felt familiar, even though I barely knew anyone. I truly believe that anyone who likes to create, should join newspaper in high school, and specifically join Knight Writers if they have the chance. Ms. Woben, or Ms. Webster (depending on who you ask), has made journalism an absolute joy for me these past couple years and I am forever grateful for her knowledge and investment in the class. Every newspaper field trip and print party have been unforgettable and I will never forget the moments and conversations shared in the news room. Working together as a class on something we all care about has been way more rewarding than my little freshman brain could’ve comprehended. I love you and am forever in debt to you Knight Writers!
